Ripon College Cuddesdon is one of the leading theological colleges in Great Britain. It has recently celebrated 150 years of service to the church and world and has set itself an ambitious and wide-ranging set of goals to help the College meet the Christian needs of the 21st century. It has some far reaching views, particularly the reconciliation between the Islamic and Christian faiths and they are piloting a brilliant new initiative to that end.
One of its goals has been setting up the Cuddesdon Trust, which Philip undertook in June 2008. The Cuddesdon Trust funds opportunities for scholarships, fellowships and exchanges, so that scholars and educators from across the world will be able to learn from one another, as they share in the diversity of Cuddesdon.
The Cuddesdon Trust Appeal was launched to raise £10m to realise its vision. The Appeal has progressed extremely well with building work beginning in 2011 and completion expected by the end of summer 2012.
With his background in theology, The Cuddesdon Trust campaign is one that is close to Philip's heart.
